While the king was at his table,
My perfume spread its fragrance.
~Song Of Songs 1:12 (NIV)
Lord, I’m reading about the dance of the bride and groom in Song of Solomon (from The Kiss of Peace by Diane Virginia)….so appropriate before a dinner at your table.
Me:
I’m imagining you lifting my hand in Yours
And gently You turn me around
Where I fall into Your embrace
And together we are happy
Ah Jesus, this is what I long for
Then You lead me
To a linen covered table
On gilded China, we eat
Hand in hand
A bubbly glass sparkles
Ah a taste of crisp coolness
My fork easily pierces tenderloin
With steaming whipped potatoes
Lightly covered with au jus-
A dark green leafy sauteed vegetable
Accompanies my meal
And we taste
And look into one another’s eyes.
We feel the love––I am Your chosen
And we are one
My response naturally gravitates
To grasping the spikenard
Breaking and pouring pure lovely nard
Fusing the atmosphere
With the aroma of pure love
We are one
My breath lightens in knowing all is Safe
I’m connected to You, Lord
Oh, beautiful One
God’s Response:
Ah beautiful one. I love your imagination.
I love giving you your heart’s desire––
You are like a fragrant rose to me
Come into my presence and let my love
Overflow your fears, your past
Your present, your future
Stay together at this table with me-
All is well
Me:
All is well
What message of God’s love and spiritual union do you see? How can He be your refuge? Perhaps you’d like to write a story, poem, or song to freely describe your love back to Him.
Lord, I know that You are pleased to dance not only with my body, but with my soul. You desire intimate connection with me. Open my heart to Your love so I can receive the union You long to give me.
